The Large Energy Users Energy Efficiency Incentive Program |

The Large Energy Users Energy Efficiency Incentive Program is targeted at the businesses that are the largest energy consumers in Hayward. This program is offered through collaboration with PG&E, which is offering significant incentives for businesses that make PG&E approved energy improvement upgrades to their facilities.

As of May 31, 2011, all program funds that are currently available have been reserved. If you are interested in participating in this program, please contact your PG&E Account Representative, or the City of Hayward Large Energy Users Program Manager at energyefficiency@hayward-ca.gov and you will be placed on a waiting list.
All energy efficiency measures approved for the PG&E’s Customized Retrofit Incentive program will be eligible for up to $50,000 in additional incentives from the City’s Large Energy Users Program. The City’s program will match (in effect, double) the following PG&E incentives:
Lighting - $0.05/kWh;
Air Conditioning and Refrigeration - $0.15/kWh;
Other $0.09/kWh.
The incentives will be paid on the annual savings. For example, if a $30,000 lighting retrofit project will annual save 200,000 kWh, the incentive will be $10,000 from PG&E (200,000 x 0.05) and $10,000 from Hayward’s Large Energy Users Program. The company’s cost for this project after incentives will be $10,000. (Note that PG&E incentive program caps the customer incentive to 50 percent of the cost of measures for most projects.)
To participate in the Program, please follow these simple steps:
Step 1 – Contact your PG&E Account Representative, or the City of Hayward Large Energy Users Program Manager at energyefficiency@hayward-ca.gov.
Step 2 – Fill out the City of Hayward Program Application. The application can be found at the following link – Large Energy Users Application
Step 3 – Install your project and start saving.
